WRIGHT'S RESPIRATION MONITOR/METER

Typical Number in Hospital: 10 Cost Bands: 3 References: 2,6

An electronic integrator of gas flow through a transducer which fits into the anaesthetic or ventilator breathing circuit. The scale can be set to indicate either tidal volume or minute volume. Tidal volume range is 200-1500 ml and minute volume is from 4 to 30 l/min. The transducer is similar to that in the Wright's respirometer but it detects the rotation of the vane by an optical method. This would be used by anaesthetists during anaesthesia or intensive care when using a lung ventilator.
