Investigation of the quantity or pattern of urine loss in cases of urinary incontinence may be conducted using an electronic recording system. The transducer for this is a disposable 'nappy' (diaper) impregnated with common salt and including sewn- in aluminium strip electrodes. The change in electrical impedance is recorded in response to urine leakage into the nappy.
