This is a semi-cylindrical frame in which are mounted four fluorescent tubes within a reflector intended to provide even irradiation of the patient. The irradiation is normally in the UVA part of the electromagnetic spectrum (280-400 nm) and is used in the physiotherapy department for increasing the skin blood supply, relief of pain, muscle relaxation, and also in treating some skin conditions.
