This is a discrete sample analyser used in a chemical pathology emergency laboratory or intensive care unit when chemical analysis of a small number of samples is required. These are used when an autoanalyser is not available to perform the test, or rapid results are required. Typical measurements might be of potassium, sodium, calcium ion concentration, etc.
