There are now many integrated electronic circuits available at relatively low cost for the production of words or part words (phonyms). These can be made use of by people with speech difficulties. Entry may be via a keyboard or some other device appropriate to the disability of the patient. It is expected that such devices will increase in popularity as the technology develops.
