A clean air source, free from oil, dust, or other debris, is required to drive lung ventilators where there is no piped medical air supply. A respirable air pump may have an inlet for oxygen together with flowmeters for air and oxygen to give accurate monitoring of minute volume output of an air/oxygen mixture. The Blease respirable air pump also has a safety valve set at 5 psi and the oxygen supply pressure should be 60 psi.
