This is a delayed auditory feedback machine used in the treatment of speech rhythm problems or stammering. A patient's speech may be affected (and sometimes improved) by delaying auditory feedback. The patient's voice is picked up by a microphone and fed back through headphones in a delayed and amplified form. This equipment is used in the speech therapy department.
