A range of lung ventilators has been designed for use during anaesthesia including minute volume dividers for open circuit anaesthesia (e.g. MP2 and Pulmovent) and high-pressure gas-driven types suitable for use with closed anaesthetic circuits (e.g. Manley Servovent). These provide assisted ventilation of the lungs during anaesthesia, taking a fresh gas feed from a continuous flow anaesthetic machine.
