This can be an arrangement of elastic straps to hold a face mask on a patient during anaesthesia or intensive care. A similar arrangement may be used to hold the catheter and catheter mount when an endotracheal tube is in use. The term head-harness is also used sometimes to describe the frame used to hold the electrodes applied to the head for EEG recording.
