CUVETTE

Typical Number in Hospital: Cost Bands: References: 9

In clinical chemistry tests are performed using a spectrometer or other device to detect the absorption or emission of light of particular wavelengths from a sample of a body fluid, on its own or in conjunction with a reagent. The cuvette is the glass or plastic optical chamber in which the absorption or emission is tested. The design and expense involved in the cuvette design may determine the overall accuracy.
