This is usually an intermittent demand flow machine for delivering a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen, possibly with an analgesic vapour during labour, emergency surgery or dentistry. Examples are the Entonox apparatus, Minnitt's apparatus (obsolete), McKesson, Lucy Baldwyn, Walton 5, AE, and Quantiflex RA.
